James Wong

James is an accomplished Structural Engineer and Practice Leader with more than 25 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. His career includes senior leadership roles in bridge and civil structures, transport infrastructure, mining, and oil & gas sectors, where he has consistently championed technical excellence, innovation, and collaborative project delivery.

James brings extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects. At Aurecon, he managed a team of over 10 engineers and modelers, successfully delivering major rail and road projects while also contributing to mining initiatives for Rio Tinto and BHP. His role encompassed technical leadership, project oversight, client engagement, and business development, ensuring high-quality and commercially successful outcomes.

Throughout his career, James has held senior positions at Aurecon, KBR (Melbourne), and Worley Parsons across New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore. He has led structural teams on large-scale transport, industrial, and energy projects, including freeway upgrades, railway level crossing removals, offshore platforms, power stations, and mining facilities – projects ranging from tens of millions to multi-billion dollars.
